I first “met” Mackenzie on Instagram when she started following me and liking my posts, and at some point I checked out her feed and saw that she had a beautifully written blog that really touched me. Fast forward a few months when I received an email from her that she wanted me to do her senior portraits, and I was super excited to meet her in person and plan out a beautiful session for her! Mackenzie attends Charter University Prep in Placerville, and opted for the Couture Session, which includes professional airbrush makeup and professional hair styling, and while she was in the beauty chair with Jess of Polish and Pout, we planned out her outfits and matched them to a few different locations. This is always one of my favorite parts of the session, because it’s fun to pair the perfect location with each look and capture a variety of styles for each client. We started the session behind my studio which has a lot of greenery and oak trees, made our way to some of may favorite spots in Auburn and of course had to include my very favorite wildflower field in Newcastle which was already blooming the first week of February! Mackenzie was a fantastic model despite the chilly (practically freezing) temps, and here are some of our favorite images from her session, which all ended up in her gorgeous heirloom album! Mackenzie is heading to Pepperdine University in the fall, and I couldn’t be more excited for her and her bright future!
